Just to throw an extra opinion on the fire. I blame Russ Farwell for this season, but only because my blame starts with the players. To explain: Winning starts with getting a solid season from your experienced players and ends with young guys stepping it up. Like it or not, the season rested mainly on the shoulders of Gallimore, Lockhart, Noebels, Pickard. Well, the 3 scorers of that group fell off. As in big time choke. There's your problem. So why blame Farwell? Because he probably could have traded some of these players who have been a part of the losing culture for the last few years before the season even started, but he did not.

I am with the person who posted right above me. What is really stupid is to insinuate that the majority owner/GM is not to blame for this team's woes. Who is to blame then? Sumner? Stevenson? Coach K? Please enlighten us.

Russ brought in a new coach, changed the scouting (from what I hear) and seems to address a lot of what the fans grumble about. It's not going to change in one year. So to keep blaming him for this season is stupid. It's going to take time.......... From all I'm seeing, the young guys have taken over this team and it's already more entertaining to watch. Much better effort on the ice in the last three games.

I was at a Lethbridge Game a while back, saw that they had two 15 year olds in in the line up and played well, most teams are bringing up the odd 15 year old for a game or two to see what they have. Why is Seattle not doing the same? Gropp?

The call against Jacobs was totally bogus. It was uncalled for and ignored the original call that should have resulted in a penatly shot. I was sitting right behind the goal and the hold or what I would call interferance clearly was warranted. I appreciate the comments that these refs are in training as the players but was truely a blown call.

Regardless, Portland outskated the T-birds for most of the game. It was an awful game to watch...my six year old, fresh after Dec 29 win, his first, decided to root for the other team.

Something must be done next season. This type of play and losing is getting to be heartbreaking. Russ must go...stay a owner but higher a true GM. Hopefully in two or three years we can start with a team that can compete in every game. Russ is the problem not the kids.

Tyler.. It's one thing to say that you're happy with the 'complete level' of play that you've seen over the past couple of weeks. But I don't know how you can make such a comment without acknowledging the fact that we are merely finding joy in tiny moral victories. Watching the younger B.Troock battle like a champ because Gallimore is having the most disappointing overage year imaginable. Watching kids like Hickman and Rouse get all kinds of ice time because Sanvido is a complete bust. Elliot and Doty are out wandering the concourse because they are better off in suits than they are in uniform. Sorry, but reading about tiny victories gets tiresome, just being honest.

I was pretty shocked about that call on Jacobs. I think Jacobs is a bit of an actor, but that was pretty clear.

Marcel got a couple of assists on Saturday night...I thought that was sort of funny given how selfishly he played here in Seattle. I'm mostly just kidding, but yeah, it's pretty clear he likes playing in Portland more than Seattle. I suppose it's always easier to get up and go to work when things go well, huh?
