The Schedule is out

Link to the schedule can be found here.

Counting very quickly...

Home games by day of the week:

Tuesday - 7
Wednesday - 2
Friday - 7
Saturday - 14
Sunday - 6

I'm going to take a good hard look at the schedule a little further and come back to break it down later.

Kind of murdering the kid attendance you would get on Fridays by only having 7 games. I guess you make up for with with 7 of the 2 for 1 nights and bring in the adults who will come for the $2 beers and hot dogs. I guess we will see how it all plays out during the season.

I don't want to pretend that I know what the front office is shooting for....

But my guess would be that they don't really want games on Friday night to avoid competing with High School Football. I think they probably figure that the average student would probably choose to go to their school game over a Tbirds game... but you're guess is as good as mine.

One thing I know for sure... the more they win the more people will come.

I'm kind of bummed that for the second year in a row that there are no Saturday games in Tri. Would be nice to have atleast one to use as a nice little weekend trip.

Luckily there is atleast one game in Spokane on Saturday so that works.

Great schedule this year, I love the light schedule early on especially the Friday games that are not early in the schedule, I love more of the Tuesday games, 2 for Tuesdays is a great value and the Birds should be commended for that, hopefully they market those games to the public.

I'm not so sure the Friday thing is going to matter as opposed to high school football. Take the cities of Kent, Renton, and Auburn all have numerous high schools that play on the same fields. Which means that a lot of these schools play on Thursday's and Saturday's too.... I however would rather have more Friday than Sunday games. Friday at least we can go out after games or have a few drinks. This could just be me, but over the past few years Sunday games seem like the crowd is always dead and the players seem to be just going through the motions.
