Tyler Hunnex - I started/founded/began Let's Go Birds in September of 2007 after feeling like my favorite Junior Hockey team needed more discussion and analysis. Jon Whiting - Jon joined the Let's Go Birds team in the summer of 2013. His passion for the Thunderbirds is as big as any fan I've ever met. His two kids are named after former Tbirds and his favorite all-time players were Patrick Marleau and Olaf "Ole" Kjenstad, who he swears is the best pure scoring Tbird ever.

Team showed up too late for this one. Oh well, on to the next!
Though I have been enjoying the team this year this game along with the past couple of games (wins and losses) have been frustrating the heck out of me.
Playing a physical game should not require the team to lead the league (ok 2nd) in penalty minutes. Is it too much to ask for this team to play a physical AND smart game?
During the regular season it's a bit more forgiving to play with an edge but as we get closer to the playoffs we need to start playing a smarter game and we need to avoid giving up so many chances to the other team. It wears out our special teams and causes an adverse effect to our lines.
On the other hand we are also 2nd in the league on giving up short handed goals. This is something else that needs to get figured out. It seems like we keep on coughing up the puck when the defender tries to skate the puck in which leaves the ice wide open for a one on one attempt against our goalie.
Again happy that the team is doing good just wish they would clean some stuff up.
Okay this is not a complaint alright, but games like yesterday should not happen to the birds especially this late into the season even with a opponent like Kelowna. I love the team this year and appreciate where we are considering the last 4 years of what we have gone through. Let's hope they have moved on and have a great weekend with 3 in 3 days.
