Injury Update

Bad news.

This isn't inside information... but the WHL weekly report shows both Branden Troock and Justin Myles listed as being out indefinitely.

I would hate to speculate on what that means but for a guy who is constantly injured, that cannot be a good sign for Troock.

Goalie fight!

Or not. Damn linesman.

That is too bad for Myles and Troock. It's kind of tough to get a good idea of what is going on with hockey only having two types of injuries.

As for the game tonight, I thought the T-birds played a really complete game, their team defense seems to have been pretty solid.

Some have commented on trading Troock next year, great talent but I don't know what you could get for him with the limited games he has played and him being prone to injury.

Troock was in our section briefly last night and spoke of driving home for shoulder surgury. Will be season ending. At this point i dont think he is trade worthy this summer. His play next year should be considered a bonus.

We should start a poll. How many games will Trook play next year?

Why trade Troock if he is that 'trade worthy' regardless of injury? The question is trading our marginal players, who may show some spunk with a better team, and bring in quality players that can make this team win...forget making the playoffs with a losing record. I would be happy with a win at home once in awhile...making my ticket purchases worthy.

as a side note...Russ needs to go as GM...keep him as owner but he's been a terrible GM. Time to end the hobby, yes you are the owner and it's your team but be responsible, Russ. Russ...you don't know hockey. We love you as savior of Seattle T-birds but not as a GM...the normal rant for against Russ has ended. Normal comments where I am crazy and Russ is free to decide what to do with his team can start now! lol...discuss.

Not the proper thread but I must promote the Seattle Thunderbird McDonald House charity! Worthy donation and tax deductible! If you haven't donated to Tyler and Seattle Thunderbirds challenge then do so now.

Papp and Ingram (Referee's) and Linesmen were absolutely clueless tonight against Portland. Unfortunately there must be no consequence for poor officiating in this league. 10 power plays for Portland vs 2 for Seattle. (delay of game penalties were deserved against Seattle, but a bunch of marginal calls were made. However, Seattle's power plays (2) were pathetic.

You can quibble about the officiating but if you look at Portand's power play goals, two came on the 3 delay of game calls. One on the silly and obvious penalty Delnov took. That's not the fault of the refs.

but they also could have called the obvious dive bjorkstrand took and lay on the ice for 10 seconds to finally get back up go in the offensive zone and backcheck like nothing happened.

Officiating has been horrible for years. That being said the team has to play better then the bad officiating.

Every team does.

Getting 3 dog's is inexcusable

Thunderbirds lost again so time to go off topic...

I have to ask this question...who is willing to support NHL hockey in this area? Back in the late 80s I could buy near rink side seats, five rows up, for between 40-50 dollars in St. Louis...other lower arena seats were 22 dollars. Flash forward...five years go my wife and I spent over 100 dollars for upper rafter seats...bonus, we received a free hot dog! The hot dog was good but not that good. lol How many of us are willing to support this expensive form of hockey?

BTW...my answer would be one game a year for a family of four.

It was appropriate that yesterdays game was on ground hog day because the out come was the same that we have been seeing the last 4 years especially versus a team like Tri City, we keep losing games like this and it gets so old and tired. You have got to close out a game like that, like versus Kelowna last Friday. Look out PG got some points this weekend we are by no means a lock to make the playoffs, I hope we do, this team and organization needs something to happen positive.

I thought the T-birds played pretty well last night. It was definitely not the same thing that has been going on for the last four years. The T-birds wouldn't have been in last night's game if that was the case.

They really need to learn how to put an opponent away. They dominated Tri-city, but let them hang around and it cost them a point.

I really liked the defensive efforts this weekend, I thought they played pretty good as a team. The biggest difference is the good teams don't need a lot of scoring chances to get goals and the T-birds still do.

I hope they can take the same level of effort up to Victoria and at least split.

I'm looking forward to how they finish the season and am curious if some of the 17 yr old defensemen are trade bait in the offseason.
