You want stats? You can't handle the stats

Since readers seemed interested in the faceoff stats I posted last week, I decided that I would use my stat application and track everything I do for Root Sports.  I did this for last Friday's game against Saskatoon.

We shall start out with a high level overview of the game

Now the location of where each registered shot on goal was released from

Now where a shot was taken that ended up going high or wide of the net, not because of a block.

Now where a shot was taken that resulted in a block, not where the block took place

Now put all of those together, and you get all attempted shots

This one should be obvious, but just in case, it is where each goal was scored from

And lastly, where a scoring chance took place at.  These may end in a shot attempted, or in the case of a 2 on 1, where the pass gets broken up or something, they do not. (NOTE, I didn't really track these all that well for this game)

Here is a look at each player.  It is their basic scoring stats, penalty minutes, and faceoff info. Players not bolded means they didn't have anything on them.

Faceoffs by team and by location (in text form, no nice looking image)

Jon---Doesn't that work give you head aches ?

Not sure of whether or not this is common knowledge, but Michal Holub has opted out of his spot with the team and his name has been removed from the team roster on the site.

In response to getting head aches. This all comes from a stat application I wrote for a tablet. So really, it is all just touching buttons on the screen. So it is actually not that bad.

What happened to Holub?

It was likely all about lack of playing time. The real question is do they trade him now or hold on to him to fill one of the many holes that will be in the lineup next year since there will be a large amount of vacancies due to our 9 19's on the current roster.

I'm sure that will all be based on the relationship that him and the organization have on his departure for home.
