Seattle at Vancouver - Game Thread

Seattle heads to Vancouver tonight. This is the type of game they have to get if they want to stick around the top 4 in the West.

11-3 to 12-9 can you guys explain this?i just don't get this team? Jon and Tyler do you believe in coach k and his system?

I think it's just a lack of consistent effort. If you want to blame players, coaches or GMs I'll leave that up to you for now.

Yaks , Mac and Trook line scores to make it 4-2 and the Coach sends out the Elliot line right after we score. Great way to build on the momentumn from the goal Coach. Why the hell is Elliot getting the same amount of ice time as the top players on this team. We need offence and we send out Elliot, Easnor, Kolesar. Yaks lines didn't come back for about 4 or 5 minutes after we score, can't figure this out.
So what are the lines for the next game coach K. This team must use bingo balls to make up the lines.

Keep it civil please... this is borderline.

When considering what we REALLY want to say right now, I'd consider that last post to be civil enough. And I agree that the line that they mentioned is a huge liability for the team. We're talking about 3 players who have 3 goals and 10 points COMBINED at this point in the season. What magic does coach K expect to have happen when he sends these 3 out? Elliot has 1 point in his last 16 games, he started out ok but has disappeared from the score sheet like he does every year. The other two are still trying to figure things out. To me, the team got too young when they traded Sheen, put Kolesar/Eansor on a line, added Gropp, and left themselves with 1 1/2 overagers instead of 3 after the trades. Also, their oldest goaltender is 18 and shares time with a 17. It's just a very young, inexpereienced team in a lot of ways, and the two Lethy players don't bring enough to the table to bring a veteran impact to the team.

Seattle Thunderbirds GM Russ Farwell just announced the team’s slogan has been changed from Are You Ready? To Are We Ready? For tonight’s game against Portland.

We had a winning team. We traded and tweaked until it's not the same team anymore. We now have a losing team with "more talent" then we've had in a long time. So it's either a case of underperformance or a chemistry problem. Either way, SOMEONE at the top messed up and needs to fix this! I've been a fan for over 20 years and I have a "no confidence" vote for this organization right now. FIX IT!!!

9:40 -- I disagree, Eansor is not the problem, I would take him if I was the GM of any other team in the league. He actually plays "defense".

One of the biggest problems is no one can win a face off.
Does this league keep face off win/loss stats?

Also, Portland does not suck as the fans chant, I think they have the wrong team.

The sanctions the league placed on them worked well!

To the above poster.. If you've been a fan for 20 years, then you know as well as I do that the 'no confidence vote' toward Farwell has been a growing sentiment for years. Even newer fans know that in 5 years worth of ShoWare history, Russ has turned over an entire roster and coaching staff and still the team puts up the same results as they did the day they moved in. You are asking a man who has failed against his own peers for over a decade to fix this.. and that is a tall order. My personal concern is that while the team is securing valuable draft picks and young talent, they are making countless dumb mistakes with the veterans to offset the improvements and they are again stalled in mediocrity. Not securing starting-quality goaltending, keeping Elliot over Forsberg, releasing Benoit in favor of talentless overager.. Just a few examples of what I mean. A track record of failures leaves all of us wondering exactly who is going to 'fix it', but it certainly isn't the guy who currently sits in the owner's box.
