Performance for the Ages...

An unbelievable 57 save performance from Calvin Pickard tonight leads Seattle to a 1-0 win at home over the Tri-City Americans.

With no game the rest of the weekend... let's just enjoy this tonight and I'll come back sometime this weekend with some additional thoughts.

Can you say Cody Rudkowsky?

Great performance tonight by Pickard. He should have been the first and second star. Very nice deflection from Sena. I thought Sena played a great game, made some hits to help get the fans in the game. The team played with some energy tonight and it was nice to see. I thought the T-birds were a lot better on Defense tonight, but they are really struggling getting the other team out of the offensive zone.

Tyler, when you put more thoughts down, perhaps you can explain how Sena doesn't get a star for his game tonight.

Anyone know the last time there was a 1-0 (where the goal wasnt scored late in the game) and the one player that scored did not get a star? strange.....

Pickards game Friday against Tri-City was one of the best goal performances I have ever seen. He had some luck when he needed it and his defense cleared some shots quickly but he did most of this on his own. This kid has ice water in his veins. 25 stops in the 1st period alone! Tri-City had to be asking what they needed to do to score.

I also agree with MarcS74 that Sena should have received a star. Only goal and the physical presence he brought to the ice was impressive. Someone checked him and that seemed to really light his fire.

One last thought is I have been really impressed with Jonathan Parker. He kept improving last year as the season went on and he has been working his tail of this year. He is playing a physical game and going hard into corners. Nice to see a good player continuing to get better and have some goals to show for it.
